With three conferences posted, there are going to be updates to those leagues as rosters develop. So, this will be the page where updates are posted for conferences that I've already written up. Projecting 2017: West Coast Conference

Jon Rothstein usually tweets the same stuff over and over and over again. However, recently he tweeted something about Saint Mary's. Randy Bennett returns his top three scorers and adds Cullen Neal. With the defections at Gonzaga, Saint Mary's could be WCC favorites. — Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) May 8, 2017 Of course, this sent me to the database of returning and projected win shares to see just how true that was. And now, I'm here to share with you what I saw. After these links to my previous work. Intro Big 12 Big Ten SEC (Part 1) SEC (Part 2) Missouri Valley Updates If this is the first time you've ever visited or read my blog, please do yourself a favor and read the Intro. I'm not saying you'd do yourself a favor because it's awesome to read. It will just help the stuff below this make a lot more sense. From 10 to 1, a look at the West Coast Conference. 10. Portland Pilots (Last Year: 11-22, 2-16) -- 5.7 Win Shares (12 scholarships)

Projecting 2017: Missouri Valley Conference

Let's take a break from breaking down some of the Power Six conferences and instead move a little more local (for me anyway). The Missouri Valley Conference has seen a shift in what it looks like since I started this project, and it might see another change very soon with the possible addition of Valparaiso. Until it is officially announced from the MVC, though, I'm only going to include the nine remaining teams following Wichita State's departure. PREVIOUS LINKS Intro Big 12 Big Ten SEC (Part 1) SEC (Part 2) Updates From 9 to 1 in the Missouri Valley.... 9. Indiana State Sycamores (Last Year: 11-20, 5-13) -- 8.9 Win Shares (12 scholarships) WHO'S GONE: The best player from last year's team that tied for the conference's worst record for one. Everett Clemons (3.4) has graduated, as have Matt Van Scyoc (1.6), TJ Bell (1.2) and Niels Bunschoten (0.5). Donovan Franklin (0.2) has also announced a transfer. WHO'S BACK: Their second best

Before getting to the top seven teams in the Southeastern Conference, don't forget to hit these links: Intro Big 12 Big Ten Updates Also, Part 1 of the SEC Preview is right here. 7. Mississippi State Bulldogs (Last Year: 16-16, 6-12) -- 19.1 Win Shares (13 scholarships) WHO'S GONE: Only Missouri and LSU were worse than Mississippi State last season, but the 'Dogs have the added excuse that they were very young. Only I.J. Ready (2.1) is a known defection heading into next year. WHO'S BACK: Everybody else! That's certainly headlined by junior Quinndary Weatherspoon (3.5). He will have plenty of help from his classmates Aric Holman (2.2) and Xavian Stapleton (1.7), sophomores Lamar Peters (2.0), Mario Kegler (1.9), Tyson Carter (1.7), Schnider Herard (1.0) and Eli Wright (1.0). And add in redshirt freshman Abdul Ado (0.9), who was a top 100 recruit last year but was ruled ineligible for the season. So, I guess he isn't exactly "back," but h

Projecting 2017: Southeastern Conference (Part 1)

This has to be the weirdest set of projections I've run across. The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is certainly not known for having too much success in basketball - other than Kentucky (and there's also that whole Final Four thing South Carolina did). You know, it's kind of like how football has one really good team and the rest is pretty meh. Well, that might be about to change with the additions of semi-new or new coaches at Alabama, Auburn and Missouri. Or it might not. As always, hit the "Intro" link before reading this if you need some context. Intro Big 12 Big Ten Updates Here we go, the SEC from 14 to 8.... 14. LSU Tigers (10-21, 2-16) -- 10.5 Win Shares (13 scholarships) WHO'S GONE: The top guy they would love to have back is Antonio Blakeney, who entered the program as the yin to Ben Simmons' yang. Now, he leaves without much to show for it. Craig Victor (0.3), Brian Bridgewater (0.1) and Brandon Eddlestone (0.1) are all graduated. Ki

Projecting 2017: The Big Ten Conference

Previous links: Intro Projecting the Big 12 The Big Ten Conference has had several "down" years in the recent past. If these numbers mean anything (and they probably don't), the 2017-18 season could see a turnaround. Right now, six teams sport at least 21.9 win shares and two of them are at 31.0 or more - totals that put them in the top four nationally. With that tease, let's get after it. From 14 to 1 in the Big Ten... 14. Rutgers Scarlet Knights (Last Year: 15-18, 3-15) -- 10.9 Win Shares (11 scholarships) WHO'S GONE: Rutgers looked like they would welcome back much of their core. Instead, Nigel Johnson (2.5 win shares) and Jonathan Laurent (0.5) announced transfers (so did freshman Ibrahima Diallo). C.J. Gettys (2.2) and Khalil Batie are also gone due to the exhaustion of their eligibility. WHO'S BACK: Seniors DeShawn Freeman (3.1) and Mike Williams (2.9) headline a group that also includes junior Corey Sanders (1.5) and sophomore Isssa Thiam (
