BIG 12 CONFERENCE (Update: May 16th)
Update: Not a big loss, but a necessary loss for Kansas after they took on one too many scholarships. Coleby picked up a 0.8 win share projection, but it's unlikely he would have seen much time anyway. The Jayhawks roster now appears set.

HOWEVER, TCU moves back to the top of the league with his defection. They are also one scholarship too many, so that could change in the near future.

TCU 26.6 (14)
Kansas 26.2 (13)
West Virginia 25.1 (14)
Baylor 24.1 (13)
Texas Tech 21.7 (13)
Oklahoma State 19.3 (15)
Kansas State 15.9 (13)
Oklahoma 15.8 (12)
Iowa State 15.7 (12)
Texas 13.4 (11)

WEST COAST CONFERENCE (Update: May 16th)
-Both Steven Beo (0.5) and Jamal Aytes (0.5) are leaving BYU.

Update: This drops the Cougars down to 12 allotted scholarships, but it does keep them just in front of Gonzaga in the WCC projections. The latest update:

Saint Mary's 26.7 (13)
Brigham Young 22.7 (12)
Gonzaga 21.1 (10)
San Francisco 18.0 (13)
Santa Clara 12.0 (12)
San Diego 11.8 (13)
Pacific 9.4 (8)
Loyola Marymount 8.0 (13)
Pepperdine 6.5 (12)
Portland 5.7 (12)

SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE (Update: May 15th)
Update: This one was a whopper. Tilmon (1.8 projected win shares) had originally signed with Illinois, but he received his release when John Grace was fired. Then he pretty much said nothing. He still personally hasn't said anything, but he sure has signed. In my projections, it moves the Tigers into the top 15 among the "Power Six" schools and second in the SEC. The full update:

Alabama 25.9 (12)
Missouri 22.9 (13)
Kentucky 22.8 (11)
Auburn 22.4 (11)
Texas A&M 22.1 (12)
Florida 21.4 (12)
Ole Miss 19.8 (13)
Mississippi State 19.1 (13)
Georgia 17.2 (13)
Vanderbilt 16.5 (13)
Tennessee 16.5 (13)
Arkansas 16.4 (13)
South Carolina 15.7 (14)
LSU 10.5 (13)

BIG TEN CONFERENCE (Update: May 14th)
Update: Johnson is a three-star recruit, according to ESPN, which nets him a 0.6 projection for his freshman season. It moves Rutgers closer to Illinois, but they remain in the final spot of the conference. They have one scholarship available.

Michigan State 31.6 (12)
Purdue 31.0 (14)
Michigan 24.3 (13)
Minnesota 22.6 (13)
Northwestern 22.4 (12)
Maryland 18.9 (11)
Indiana 17.7 (13)
Iowa 17.3 (13)
Wisconsin 16.5 (11)
Ohio State 15.6 (12)
Penn State 14.4 (12)
Nebraska 13.3 (11)
Illinois 11.7 (9)
Rutgers 11.5 (12)

BIG 12 CONFERENCE (Update: May 12th)
-Iowa State has landed Princeton grad transfer Hans Brase (3.3).

Update: Brase is a big grab for an Iowa State outfit that desperately needed to add good, experienced players. Putting a stretch four like Brase in Steve Prohm's system is a big gift, and it moves Iowa State out of the cellar in my projected Big 12 win shares. See:

Kansas 27.0 (14)
TCU 26.6 (14)
West Virginia 25.1 (14)
Baylor 24.1 (13)
Texas Tech 21.7 (13)
Oklahoma State 19.3 (15)
Kansas State 15.9 (13)
Oklahoma 15.8 (12)
Iowa State 15.7 (12)
Texas 13.4 (11)

MISSOURI VALLEY CONFERENCE (Update: May 10th)
-OK, it's (basically) official. Valparaiso is going to become the newest member of the Missouri Valley Conference. I mentioned in my MVC preview that Valparaiso would project near the bottom of the league. There were some on Twitter that disagreed. I'm good with that, because this is a very, very unscientific model. Still, here's what the Crusaders look like next year...

WHO'S GONE: There are some big losses here, starting with the exhausted eligibility of Alec Peters (6.1) and Shane Hammink (4.1) and continuing with the transfer of Lexus Williams (1.7). Jubril Adekoya (0.5), Nick Davidson (0.4) and John Middleton are others that are leaving in some capacity.

WHO'S BACK: In the senior class, we find Tevonn Walker (3.5) and Max Joseph (2.1) coming back after solid seasons. Sophomores Jaume Sorolla (1.8), John Kiser (prorated 1.2) and Derrik Smits (0.5) also figure to be important pieces again.

WHO'S NEW: Nebraska transfer Bakari Evelyn was ranked as a 3-star coming out of high school, so I've given him the 0.6 projection affiliated with that. Junior college prospect Markus Golder and 3-star Parker Hazen have also picked up that same projection. Mileek McMillan and Marten Linssen are unranked and unprojected at this point.

Edit: Oklahoma State transfer Joe Burton (1.0) has been added to the projection.

WHAT'S NEXT: Valpo has handed a scholarship to Providence transfer Ryan Fazekas, who won't be able to make an impact this upcoming season due to NCAA rules. For now, they are full.

Here's how the MVC lines up with the addition of Valpo:

Loyola Chicago 22.4 (14)
Missouri State 18.9 (12)
Bradley 13.0 (13)
Illinois State 12.1 (12)
Valparaiso 11.9 (14)
Southern Illinois 11.2 (11)
Evansville 11.1 (11)
Northern Iowa 10.4 (13)
Drake 9.2 (12)
Indiana State 8.9 (12)

SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE (Update: May 10th)
-247Sports 3-star Justin Minaya (0.6) committed to South Carolina.
-St. Mary's (TX) big man Yanni Wetzell has picked up a ton of major interest of late. On Wednesday, he committed to Vanderbilt. The New Zealander will sit out a year and have two years of eligibility.

Update: South Carolina, which has been projected at a low 13th in the SEC, is now over their allotted 13 scholarships. They remain in that spot, but move a little closer to No. 12. As for Vanderbilt, they've now filled their 13th scholarship and remain projected for 10th.

Alabama 25.9 (12)
Kentucky 22.8 (11)
Auburn 22.4 (11)
Texas A&M 22.1 (12)
Florida 21.4 (12)

Arkansas 16.4 (13)
South Carolina 15.7 (14)
LSU 10.5 (13)

BIG TEN CONFERENCE (Update: May 9th)
-Illinois sophomore D.J. Williams (0.4) is leaving the program.

Update: This doesn't change much, but it does open another scholarship for the Illini, who have four to use. The update:

Michigan State 31.6 (12)
Purdue 31.0 (14)
Michigan 24.3 (13)
Minnesota 22.6 (13)

Penn State 14.4 (12)
Nebraska 13.3 (11)
Illinois 11.7 (9)
Rutgers 10.9 (11)

BIG TEN CONFERENCE (May 7th)
-Indiana's James Blackmon (4.2 win shares) is reportedly set to hire an agent or already has hired an agent and will remain in the NBA Draft.

Update: Good news! Indiana is now down to a "legal" 13 allotted scholarships. Bad news! The Hoosiers go from 21.9 win shares to 17.7 and from sixth to eighth in next year's projected Big Ten standings. They've now lost a combined 11.4 win shares from their NBA dudes - Blackmon, O.G. Anunoby and Thomas Bryant. The latest look at the standings in the Big Ten...

Michigan State 31.6 (12)
Purdue 31.0 (14)
Michigan 24.3 (13)
Minnesota 22.6 (13)
Northwestern 22.4 (12)

Penn State 14.4 (12)
Nebraska 13.3 (11)

Rutgers (10.9) (11)

SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE (May 6th)
-Rivals' No. 9 ranked player and consensus five-star Kevin Knox (4.5 projected win shares) has announced his commitment to Kentucky.

Update: Kentucky needed it with all of their current and potential losses. It marks the seventh commit for the top-ranked recruiting class in 2017, and it comes just hours after I showed the 'Cats were "projected" eighth in the conference. Now? Yeah, that's not the case any longer.

Alabama 25.9 (12)
Kentucky 22.8 (11)
Auburn 22.4 (11)
Texas A&M 22.1 (12)
Florida 21.4 (12)
Missouri 21.1 (12)
Ole Miss 19.8 (13)
Mississippi State 19.1 (13)
Georgia 17.2 (13)
Vanderbilt 16.5 (12)
Tennessee 16.5 (13)
Arkansas 16.4 (13)
South Carolina 15.1 (13)
LSU 10.5 (13)

BIG 12 CONFERENCE (May 5th)
-Iowa State has picked up UT San Antonio grad transfer Jeff Beverly, who adds 2.1 win shares to the Cyclones' projection. They still have two scholarships remaining, so they have the potential to continue their climb up the standings.

Kansas 27.0 (14)
TCU 26.6 (14)
West Virginia 25.1 (14)
Baylor 24.1 (13)
Texas Tech 21.7 (13)
Oklahoma State 19.3 (15)
Kansas State 15.9 (13)
Oklahoma 15.8 (12)
Texas 13.4 (11)
Iowa State 12.4 (11)

BIG 12 CONFERENCE (May 3rd)
-Texas has landed Mount St. Mary's transfer Elijah Long. Long won't add to their projection for the 17-18 season, but he does take up their 11th scholarship.

Kansas 27.0 (14)
TCU 26.6 (14)
West Virginia 25.1 (14)
Baylor 24.1 (13)
Texas Tech 21.7 (13)
Oklahoma State 19.3 (15)
Kansas State 15.9 (13)
Oklahoma 15.8 (12)
Texas 13.4 (11)
Iowa State 10.3 (10)

BIG 12 CONFERENCE (May 2nd)
-ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports that Jack Whitman, a graduate transfer from William & Mary has committed to Kansas.

Whitman was worth 2.6 win shares in 30 games with William & Mary a season ago. He is immediately eligible and moves Kansas from No. 3 to No. 1 on the Big 12 Conference projection list. However, the Jayhawks now have 14 on scholarship. Could this mean Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk is planning to stay in the draft?

The latest projections:

Kansas 27.0 (14)
TCU 26.6 (14)
West Virginia 25.1 (14)
Baylor 24.1 (13)
